Fundamentals of Information Technology 1

There are no GIGA classes in the Spring semester. If you want to apply for Japanese classes, please see Japanese page.

Fundamentals of Information Technology 2

  • "Course Preferences" are used for selecting a class if more than one class is possible to be permitted.
    • A high course prefrence does not mean high probability of permission.
    • Preferences of Fundamentals of Information 1, 2 are independent from prefrences of other courses. They do not affect each other.
  • If you have a special reason for only taking a class at a particular day and time, you can write it.
    • A special reason may be, for example, "I will remain in the same grade if I cannot take this course in this semester. I cannot take another class with vacancies because it overlaps DS or language class." Note that the reason is not necessarily taken into consideration since it depends on the decision of the teacher.
    • In the additional rounds, teachers look the list of special reasons before deadline (likely the night before) because permissions are announced shortly after deadline. Those who want to describe special reasons should submit their entries by noon of the day before deadline.
  • In the additional rounds, you can apply for changing your permitted class. For example, suppose you got a permission for class A in the first round. If you apply for another class B in the additional rounds, what will happen is:
    • if you win the lottery: you will get a permission for class B. The permission for class A will be automatically cancelled.
    • if you lose the lottery: your permission for class A remains intact.
  • It is possible to cancel your permission. If you are certain that you will not be taking a class (e.g. if you decide to take another course in the same day and time period), please cancel to give your seat to someone else.
  • Schedule of entry periods and results announcements are as follows:
